\"\"Zsuzsanna <\/strong>Doszt\u00e1nyi<\/strong> – Group leader<\/h2>\n

I started my lab in 2014 at the Department of Biochemistry at the E\u00f6tv\u00f6s Lor\u00e1nd University in Budapest thanks to the Momentum Grant from Hungarian Academy of Sciences. I graduated from the E\u00f6tv\u00f6s Lor\u00e1nd University in Budapest with a degree in physics and biophysics and got my Phd in Biology in the Structural Biology program at the same university. I worked in the lab of Istv\u00e1n Simon at the Institute of Enzymology investigating diverse aspects of proteins using computational methods. I also obtained post-doc experience in the lab of Andrew Torda at the Australian National University and the lab of Burkhard Rost at Columbia University. My main research research interest is to understand the structural and functional properties of intrinsically disordered proteins and their involvement in various diseases.<\/p>\n

\"\"Tam\u00e1s <\/strong>Szaniszl\u00f3<\/strong> – Post-doc<\/h2>\n

I graduated from the Eotvos Lorand University and I earned my degree in biology. After receiving my degree I worked for years at the Semmelweis University on the development of a mass spectrometry based tissue identification system. I joined the group in 2015 as a PhD student. In my PhD research I focus on the experimental characterization of the short linear motif mediated interaction network of the LC8 protein.<\/p>\n

\"\"G\u00e1bor\u00a0<\/strong>Erd\u0151s<\/strong> – Assistant professor<\/h2>\n

My\u00a0research aims to understand the behaviour of protein-protein interactions mediated by short linear motifs [SLiMs] through structural analysis. I\u00a0obtained my\u00a0Master’s degree\u00a0from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, and i am\u00a0currently working on my\u00a0PhD in the group. Before joining the group, I was an investigator scientist in Dr Tam\u00e1s Hegedus’s\u00a0lab at the\u00a0Semmelweis University<\/p>\n

\"\"Norbert Deutsch<\/strong> –\u00a0PhD student<\/h2>\n

My research focuses on understanding the relationship between disordered proteins and diseases, with a particular emphasis on cancer. I graduated from E\u00f6tv\u00f6s Lor\u00e1nd University with a degree in Biology, specializing in Bioinformatics. I joined the group at the beginning of my master’s program and started my PhD here in 2023. During my PhD, I am developing new computational methods, databases, web servers, and conducting large-scale analyses.<\/p>\n

My PhD project involves studying short linear motifs [SLiMs] in terms of evolution. One of my main aims to develop a SLiM centric protein alignment method in order to overcome the limitation of alignment based evolutionary SLiM analyses. I have been working in the group for 6 years. I started to work here during my BSc studies and since September, 2013 I am working on my PhD project.<\/p>\n
